About the Presenters

Scott Baker

Scott Baker has a Masters of Education from Lakehead University and fifteen years of experience working in the education field as a teacher and administrator. Scott is presently the Education manager at Nokiiwin Tribal Council, where he has worked for the last six years. He lives in Thunder Bay with his wife and two children and enjoys board games and hiking.

Sarah Labonte

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Sarah Labonte holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Intermediate/Senior) and an Honors Bachelor of Arts with a major in Music both from Lakehead University. She has five years of fulltime classroom teaching experience and has taught students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, specializing in Early Learning, Music, and Arts Education. Prior to joining the Nokiiwin Team, Sarah worked as the Residence Life Coordinator at Confederation College, managing the overall student experience for those residing on campus. When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys camping, running, rock climbing, skiing, playing the piano, and spending time with her beautiful partner Cora, her four-year-old daughter Scotia, and her cat, Marbles.
