This resource, developed for last year’s Education Gathering, has been updated. This workshop will allow schools to discuss how best to get “back to normal” in September 2021.
About the Presenter
Lisa Primavesi joined Lakehead University’s department of Indigenous Initiatives as the Indigenous Access Programs Coordinator in August of 2020. Over the past decade, Lisa has worked in various roles with First Nations communities across the region, as a teacher with Aroland First Nation and Matawa Tribal Council, and more recently with Seven Generations Education Institute. For several years she worked as the Education Navigator with Nokiiwin Tribal Council, successfully applying on numerous funding sources to provide supports and services for Nokiiwin’s member communities. Lisa has built strong connections in these communities and is driven to support Indigenous youth in pursuit of their education goals.
Lisa is a settler Canadian with ancestors from England and Austria. She is grateful to live and work on the territory of Fort William First Nation, and acknowledges the many First Nations and Métis people who live in relation with this land.
