Community Plans & Strategies are sometimes met with cynicism at the development stage. In this session, we’ll discuss the practical benefits of starting with community-led planning and how it can lead to real progress in community development. Success stories from local communities will be shared to show developing a Land Use Plan, Strategic Plan or Comprehensive Community Plan can positively impact many aspects of community growth and development.
About the Presenter
Lisa Haessler is Nokiiwin Tribal Council’s Comprehensive Community Planning Advisor. She brings over 8 years’ experience designing and delivering community-led plans and strategies, Indigenous workforce training and development programs, feasibility studies, and business plans in Northern Ontario to the Community Development Team. Lisa is a skilled writer and researcher who enjoys collaborative, creative visioning and planning projects where every voice is heard and reflected in the process.
